WAIT… WHAT? THIS OFFICE USED TO BE SHOPPING MALL?

Wait… what? This office used to be a shopping mall? Believe it or not, it’s true. This office space is a physical manifestation of our client’s slogan “Be Ridiculous.” TaskUs, a digital customer service company in San Antonio, Texas, wanted their space to showcase their fun and vibrant style. With 77,000 square feet of office space, Infinity Group had plenty to work with. What was once a shopping mall decades ago has been transformed into an epic workspace with captivating colors and a playful atmosphere.

Infinity Group Director of Design Laura Merrill remembers the initial concept meetings, and right from the beginning it was clear TaskUs wanted color, color, and more color.

“As a company with a younger workforce they really wanted to stand out and show off their youthful side. TaskUs provided us with a concept of a clubhouse downstairs and a tree house upstairs,” said Merrill.

TaskUs wanted their office to look and feel like an enchanted forest. And that’s where the custom designed trees came in for the lobby.

Merrill explained“we really have to work with the client. We take their ideas and bring them to life.

Their company name (in their brand font) was carved in their lobby wall in big vibrant colors. The letters were designed to be spacious enough for people to sit in – talk about interactive design! It’s a great place to catch up on emails or take a quick phone call. Custom designed and fabricated trees made of composite wood with canopies of moss and strings of light complete this magical look.

“Nobody in the company has their own private office. Open private booths that are located away from common paths of traffic are meant to be used to conduct interviews,” said Merrill.

As you can see, TaskUs also wanted to use rainbow colors throughout their space.

“The client didn’t want to use white for their walls, but still needed a color that would reflect most of the light back into the space, said Merrill.

That’s how Merrill landed on a light blue color called Northern Air by Benjamin Moore. Wood-looking vinyl flooring grounds the saturation of the paint palette bringing warmth to the space.

“The space we delivered for TaskUs is vibrant and functional. We are pleased that it is adaptable, and they have ample space to safely implement COVID-19 safety measures, said Infinity Group’s Director of Client Relations, Corey Edwards.

WAIT… WHAT? Infinity Group creates spaces that are not only attractive and functional but also safe. We believe workspace design gives companies a gorgeous way to portray their business goals and values. TaksUs prides themselves on creating awesome office spaces to help them retain excellent talent – and their space proves that. What does your office say about you and your company?
